The point is that you DON'T need any of them to enjoy the game. Of course the game is going to be better with dlcs (except Common Sense which currently ruins the game just by being enabled).why the hell would you buy them if that wasn't the case? How is having all the money in the world going to change the fact that a 40 base price game is fun? When you AREN'T spending any of it on dlcs because you argue they aren't nessecary for fun? So currently there are zero mechanics removed and re-added as dlc.Īlso.why are you arguing that people with deep pockets are the only ones who would say the base game is fine without dlcs? And that was finally fixed in 1.18 when they added the ability to reform out of native council without needing CoP (which is what prevented them from westernizing). The ONLY time an ability has ever been removed and put back as dlc was removing the ability for North/South American natives to westernize without CoP. Not only that, you're continue to spread lies about features being removed and returned as dlc. EU4 is sort of like an MMO, it's fun as hell if you have the money to afford it. Hell, Mare Nostrum largely makes the game worse imo and Third Rome is completely optional. The same applies to Art of War, go fight a war without that DLC and then tell me the game is fun without it.ĮU4 is a great game, but it's a rather expensive great game. I challenge anyone to play a non-Western European nation without Common Sense if you still say Common Sense isn't 100% required after that then you're out of your mind.

The essential DLC usually feature mechanics that were straight up removed from the base game and then put into said DLC or they make changes to the game that require DLC to work correctly. Originally posted by Tiny Tyrant:Yeah no, there's simply no arguing that certain DLC isn't essential.
